[सावित्री] न कार्यस तात संतापः पारियिष्याम्य अहं वरतम वयवसायकृतं हीदं वयवसायश च कारणम ॥ ३-२८०-६ ॥
'Upon hearing these words, Savitri said, 'Do not sorrow, O father. I shall successfully complete this vow. It was undertaken with unwavering determination, and it is that very determination that leads to its fulfillment.'' ॥ 3-280-6 ॥
english translation
[दयुमत्सेन] वरतं भिन्धीति वक्तुं तवां नास्मि शक्तः कथं चन पारयस्वेति वचनं युक्तम अस्मद्विधॊ वदेत ॥ ३-२८०-७ ॥
'Hearing her reply, Dyumatsena said, 'It is not for me to urge you to break your vow. On the contrary, someone like me should say—Persevere, and may you complete it successfully.'' ॥ 3-280-7 ॥

[मार्क] एवम उक्त्वा दयुमत्सेनॊ विरराम महामनाः तिष्ठन्ती चापि सावित्री काष्ठभूतेव लक्ष्यते ॥ ३-२८०-८ ॥
'With these words, the noble Dyumatsena said no more. And Savitri, steadfast in her fast, appeared thin and unmoving—like a lifeless wooden doll.' ॥ 3-280-8 ॥

शवॊभूते भर्तृमरणे सावित्र्या भरतर्षभ दुःखान्वितायास तिष्ठन्त्याः सा रात्रिर वयत्यवर्तत ॥ ३-२८०-९ ॥
'And, O foremost of the Bharatas, knowing that her husband’s death was near, the sorrow-laden Savitri passed that night in silent torment, maintaining her fast with unwavering resolve.' ॥ 3-280-9 ॥

अद्य तद दिवसं चेति हुत्वा दीप्तं हुताशनम युगमात्रॊदिते सूर्ये कृत्वा पौर्वाह्णिकाः करियाः ॥ ३-२८०-१० ॥
'As the sun rose just a couple of handbreadths into the sky, Savitri reflected, 'This is the appointed day.' She then completed her morning rituals and made offerings into the radiant sacred fire.' ॥ 3-280-10 ॥
