अल्पावशेषम आयुश च ततॊ ऽमन्यन्त रक्षसः बरह्मास्त्रॊदीरणाच छत्रॊर देवगन्धर्वकिंनराः ॥ ३-२७४-२६ ॥
'Then, the Rakshasas, upon seeing that only a small portion of Ravana's life remained, believed that the Brahmastra had already begun to take effect. The gods, Gandharvas, and Kinnaras, along with Indra, rejoiced at the sight.' ॥ 3-274-26 ॥
english translation
ततः ससर्ज तं रामः शरम अप्रतिम ओजसम रावणान्त करं घॊरं बरह्मदण्डम इवॊद्यतम ॥ ३-२७४-२७ ॥
'Then, Rama shot that fearsome weapon of unparalleled energy, destined to bring about Ravana's death, resembling a Brahmana's curse on the verge of being uttered.' ॥ 3-274-27 ॥
english translation
स तेन राक्षसश्रेष्ठः सरथः साश्वसारथिः परजज्वाल मजा जवालेनाग्निनाभिपरिष्कृतः ॥ ३-२७४-२८ ॥
'And as soon as that arrow was released by Rama from his bow, drawn to its full circle, the Rakshasa king, along with his chariot, charioteer, and horses, was engulfed in flames, surrounded on all sides by a terrifying fire.' ॥ 3-274-28 ॥
english translation
ततः परहृष्टास तरिदशाः सगन्धर्वाः सचारणाः निहतं रावणं दृष्ट्वा रामेणाक्लिष्टकर्मणा ॥ ३-२७४-२९ ॥
'And upon seeing Ravana slain by Rama, renowned for his great deeds, the celestials, along with the Gandharvas and Charanas, rejoiced greatly.' ॥ 3-274-29 ॥

तत्यजुस तं महाभागं पञ्च भूतानि रावणम भरंशितः सर्वलॊकेषु स हि बरह्मास्त तेजसा ॥ ३-२७४-३० ॥
'Deprived of his universal dominion by the power of the Brahmastra, the five elements abandoned the illustrious Ravana.' ॥ 3-274-30 ॥
