ततः करुद्धः ससर्जाशु दशग्रीवः शिताञ शरान सहस्रायुतशॊ रामे शस्त्राणि विविधानि च ॥ ३-२७४-२१ ॥

'But soon, his anger flared, and the Ten-necked hero began to rain down thousands upon thousands of sharpened arrows, along with countless weapons of all kinds.' ॥ 3-274-21 ॥

tataH karuddhaH sasarjAzu dazagrIvaH zitAJa zarAna sahasrAyutazò rAme zastrANi vividhAni ca ॥ 3-274-21 ॥

ततॊ भुशुण्डीः शूलांश च मुसलानि परश्वधान शक्तीश च विविधाकाराः शतघ्नीश च शितक्षुराः ॥ ३-२७४-२२ ॥

'Then, he hurled spears, maces, clubs, various kinds of axes, sharp-pointed weapons, and Shataghnis, all with deadly intent.' ॥ 3-274-22 ॥

तां मायां विकृतां दृष्ट्वा दशग्रीवस्य रक्षसः भयात परदुद्रुवुः सर्वे वानराः सर्वतॊदिशम ॥ ३-२७४-२३ ॥

'Upon seeing the terrifying illusion created by the Ten-necked Rakshasa, the monkeys, filled with fear, fled in all directions.' ॥ 3-274-23 ॥

ततः सुपत्रं सुमुखं हेमपुङ्खं शरॊत्तमम तूणाद आदाय काकुत्स्थॊ बरह्मास्त्रेण युयॊज ह ॥ ३-२७४-२४ ॥

'Then, the descendant of Kakutstha, drawing from his quiver an excellent arrow adorned with beautiful wings and golden feathers, and possessing a bright, radiant head, fitted it to his bow, chanting the Brahmastra mantra.' ॥ 3-274-24 ॥

tataH supatraM sumukhaM hemapuGkhaM zaròttamama tUNAda AdAya kAkutsthò barahmAstreNa yuyòja ha ॥ 3-274-24 ॥

तं बाणवर्यं रामेण बरह्मास्त्रेणाभिमन्त्रितम जहृषुर देवगन्धर्वा दृष्ट्वा शक्रपुरॊगमाः ॥ ३-२७४-२५ ॥

'That excellent arrow, consecrated by Rama with the Brahmastra mantra, was launched, and upon seeing it, the gods and celestial beings rejoiced, along with those who reside in Indra's city.' ॥ 3-274-25 ॥
