परबॊध्य महता चैनं यत्नेनागत साध्वसः सवस्थम आसीनम अव्यग्रं विनिद्रं राक्षसाधिपः ततॊ ऽबरवीद दशग्रीवः कुम्भकर्णं महाबलम ॥ ३-२७०-२१ ॥
'Ravana, with great effort, awakened Kumbhakarna, who was sitting peacefully, unaffected and undisturbed in his sleep. Then, the ten-headed Ravana spoke to his mighty brother Kumbhakarna.' ॥ 3-270-21 ॥
english translation
parabòdhya mahatA cainaM yatnenAgata sAdhvasaH savasthama AsInama avyagraM vinidraM rAkSasAdhipaH tatò 'baravIda dazagrIvaH kumbhakarNaM mahAbalama ॥ 3-270-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptधन्यॊ ऽसि यस्य ते निद्रा कुम्भकर्णेयम ईदृशी य इमं दारुणं कालं न जानीषे महाभयम ॥ ३-२७०-२२ ॥
'Truly, you are fortunate, O Kumbhakarna, to enjoy such profound and undisturbed repose, unaware of the terrible calamity that has befallen us!' ॥ 3-270-22 ॥
english translation
dhanyò 'si yasya te nidrA kumbhakarNeyama IdRzI ya imaM dAruNaM kAlaM na jAnISe mahAbhayama ॥ 3-270-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएष तीर्त्वार्णवं रामः सेतुना हरिभिः सह अवमन्येह नः सर्वान करॊति कदनं महत ॥ ३-२७०-२३ ॥
'Rama, with his monkey host, has crossed the ocean by means of a bridge, and disregarding us all, he is waging a fierce war against us.' ॥ 3-270-23 ॥

eSa tIrtvArNavaM rAmaH setunA haribhiH saha avamanyeha naH sarvAna karòti kadanaM mahata ॥ 3-270-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमया हय अपहृता भार्या सीता नामास्य जानकी तां मॊक्षयिषुर आयातॊ बद्ध्वा सेतुं महार्णवे ॥ ३-२७०-२४ ॥
'I have secretly taken his wife Sita, the daughter of Janaka, and it is to recover her that he has come here, having built a bridge over the vast ocean.' ॥ 3-270-24 ॥

mayA haya apahRtA bhAryA sItA nAmAsya jAnakI tAM mòkSayiSura AyAtò baddhvA setuM mahArNave ॥ 3-270-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतेन चैव परहस्तादिर महान्नः सवजनॊ हतः तस्य नान्यॊ निहन्तास्ति तवदृते शत्रुकर्शन ॥ ३-२७०-२५ ॥
'Moreover, our mighty kinsmen, including Prahasta and others, have already been slain by him. And, O scourge of your enemies, there is no one else, save you, who can slay Rama!' ॥ 3-270-25 ॥

tena caiva parahastAdira mahAnnaH savajanò hataH tasya nAnyò nihantAsti tavadRte zatrukarzana ॥ 3-270-25 ॥
