गम्यताम इति चॊक्त्वा मां सीता परादाद इमं मणिम धारिता येन वैदेही कालम एतम अनिन्दिता ॥ ३-२६६-६६ ॥

'‘You may depart now!’ And with these words, she gave me this jewel as a token. Indeed, it was by means of this jewel that the faultless Sita had been sustaining her existence.' ॥ 3-266-66 ॥

english translation

gamyatAma iti còktvA mAM sItA parAdAda imaM maNima dhAritA yena vaidehI kAlama etama aninditA ॥ 3-266-66 ॥

परत्ययार्थं कथां चेमां कथयाम आस जानकी कषिप्राम इषीकां काकस्य चित्रकूटे महागिरौ भवता पुरुषव्याघ्र परत्यभिज्ञान कारणात ॥ ३-२६६-६७ ॥

'The daughter of Janaka further told me, as a token from her, that you, O tiger among men, had once shot a blade of grass, empowered with mantras and transformed into a deadly weapon, at a crow while you were on the slopes of the mighty Chitrakuta hill!' ॥ 3-266-67 ॥

paratyayArthaM kathAM cemAM kathayAma Asa jAnakI kaSiprAma iSIkAM kAkasya citrakUTe mahAgirau bhavatA puruSavyAghra paratyabhijJAna kAraNAta ॥ 3-266-67 ॥

शरावयित्वा तदात्मानं ततॊ दग्ध्वा च तां पुरीम संप्राप्त इति तं रामः परियवादिनम अर्चयत ॥ ३-२६६-६८ ॥

'And this she spoke as proof that I had truly met her and that she was indeed the princess of Videha. I then allowed myself to be captured by Ravana's soldiers and set fire to the city of Lanka!' ॥ 3-266-68 ॥

zarAvayitvA tadAtmAnaM tatò dagdhvA ca tAM purIma saMprApta iti taM rAmaH pariyavAdinama arcayata ॥ 3-266-68 ॥
