इति तस्य वचॊ शरुत्वा वयम उत्थाय सत्वराः सागरप्लवने मन्त्रं मन्त्रयामः परंतप ॥ ३-२६६-५६ ॥

'Hearing these words, we immediately rose and, O chastiser of foes, began consulting with one another on how to cross the ocean.' ॥ 3-266-56 ॥

iti tasya vacò zarutvA vayama utthAya satvarAH sAgaraplavane mantraM mantrayAmaH paraMtapa ॥ 3-266-56 ॥

नाध्यवस्यद यदा कश चित सागरस्य विलङ्घने ततः पितरम आविश्य पुप्लुवे ऽहं महार्णवम शतयॊजनविस्तीर्णं निहत्य जलराक्षसीम ॥ ३-२६६-५७ ॥

'When no one else was able to determine a way to cross the ocean, I entered into (invoked) my father (the Wind god) and leaped across the great ocean, Which was a hundred yojanas wide, after defeating the water demoness.' ॥ 3-266-57 ॥

english translation

nAdhyavasyada yadA kaza cita sAgarasya vilaGghane tataH pitarama Avizya pupluve 'haM mahArNavama zatayòjanavistIrNaM nihatya jalarAkSasIma ॥ 3-266-57 ॥

तत्र सीता मया दृष्टा रावणान्तःपुरे सती उपवासतपः शीला भर्तृदर्शनलालसा जटिला मलदिग्धाङ्गी कृशा दीना तपस्विनी ॥ ३-२६६-५८ ॥

'After slaying the Rakshasis in the waters, I saw the chaste Sita in Ravana's harem, observing ascetic austerities. She was eager to see her lord, with matted hair, her body smeared with filth, emaciated, melancholic, and helpless.' ॥ 3-266-58 ॥

tatra sItA mayA dRSTA rAvaNAntaHpure satI upavAsatapaH zIlA bhartRdarzanalAlasA jaTilA maladigdhAGgI kRzA dInA tapasvinI ॥ 3-266-58 ॥

निमित्तैस ताम अहं सीताम उपलभ्य पृथग्विधैः उपसृत्याब्रुवं चार्याम अभिगम्य रहॊगताम ॥ ३-२६६-५९ ॥

'Recognizing her as Sita by those distinct signs, I approached that venerable lady while she was alone.' ॥ 3-266-59 ॥

nimittaisa tAma ahaM sItAma upalabhya pRthagvidhaiH upasRtyAbruvaM cAryAma abhigamya rahògatAma ॥ 3-266-59 ॥

सीते रामस्य दूतॊ ऽहं वानरॊ मारुतात्मजः तवद्दर्शनम अभिप्रेप्सुर इह पराप्तॊ विहायसा ॥ ३-२६६-६० ॥

'I said, 'I am, O Sita, an emissary of Rama, the monkey born of Pavana. Desiring to see you, I have come here, traveling through the skies!'' ॥ 3-266-60 ॥
