'Meanwhile, inflamed with desire, Ravana returned to his city of Lanka and confined Sita in a dwelling as splendid as Nandana itself, set within an Ashoka grove that resembled a hermitage of ascetics.' ।। 3-264-41 ।।

'She, who is a devotee of Lord Bhartṛhari, with a slender body, wearing the attire of an ascetic, and known for her penance, austerities, and good character, lived there. She survived on fruits and roots, enduring hardship and suffering.' ।। 3-264-42 ।।

'Meanwhile, the king of the Rakshasas stationed numerous Rakshasa women to guard her. These women were armed with bearded darts, swords, lances, battle-axes, maces, and flaming brands.' ।। 3-264-43 ।।

'Some of them had eyes on their foreheads, while others had long tongues, and some had none at all. Some had three breasts, and others had only one leg. Some had three matted braids on their heads, while others had only one eye.' ।। 3-264-44 ।।
