उभौ जघ्नतुर अन्यॊन्यम उभौ भूमौ निपेततुः उभौ ववल्गतुश चित्रं मुष्टिभिश च निजघ्नतुः ।। ३-२६४-३१ ।।

sanskrit

'And they struck each other down upon the earth. Leaping high into the air, they rained fierce blows with their fists.' ।। 3-264-31 ।।

english translation

ubhau jaghnatura anyònyama ubhau bhUmau nipetatuH ubhau vavalgatuza citraM muSTibhiza ca nijaghnatuH || 3-264-31 ||

उभौ रुधिरसंसिक्तौ नखदन्त परिक्षतौ शुशुभाते तदा वीरौ पिश्पिताव इव किंशुकौ ।। ३-२६४-३२ ।।

sanskrit

'Mangled by each other’s nails and teeth, their bodies ran crimson with blood, so that the two heroes shone like a pair of blooming kiṁśuka trees.' ।। 3-264-32 ।।

english translation

ubhau rudhirasaMsiktau nakhadanta parikSatau zuzubhAte tadA vIrau pizpitAva iva kiMzukau || 3-264-32 ||

न विशेषस तयॊर युद्धे तदा कश चन दृश्यते सुग्रीवस्य तदा मालां हनूमान कण्ठ आसजत ।। ३-२६४-३३ ।।

sanskrit

'As they battled fiercely, no visible difference could be discerned between them. Then Hanuman placed a garland of flowers around Sugriva’s neck to mark him in the fight.' ।। 3-264-33 ।।

na vizeSasa tayòra yuddhe tadA kaza cana dRzyate sugrIvasya tadA mAlAM hanUmAna kaNTha Asajata || 3-264-33 ||

स मालया तदा वीरः शुशुभे कण्ठसक्तया शरीमान इव महाशैलॊ मलयॊ मेघमालया ।। ३-२६४-३४ ।।

'And that hero, adorned with the garland around his neck, shone like the towering peak of Malaya, wreathed in a belt of clouds.' ।। 3-264-34 ।।

sa mAlayA tadA vIraH zuzubhe kaNThasaktayA zarImAna iva mahAzailò malayò meghamAlayA || 3-264-34 ||
