कॊ हीदृशानाम अरिमर्दनानां; कलेशक्षमाणाम अपराजितानाम पराणैः समाम इष्टतमां जिहीर्षेद; अनुत्तमं रत्नम इव परमूढः न बुध्यते नाथवतीम इहाद्य; बहिश्चरं हृदयं पाण्डवानाम ॥ ३-२५३-१३ ॥
'Who could be so foolish as to seize that priceless jewel—the beloved Draupadi—who belongs to the mighty and ever-victorious sons of Pandu, those grinders of foes, and is as dear to them as their own lives? I know not who could be so reckless as to seize that princess, She who is guarded by such mighty protectors, She who is, in truth, the very living heart Of the valiant sons of Pandu.' ॥ 3-253-13 ॥
