ते यात्वा पाण्डवास तत्र बहुभिर बराह्मणैः सह पुण्यं दवैतवनं रम्यं विविशुर भरतर्षभाः ॥ ३-२५-१६ ॥
'Those mighty sons of Pandu, the pride of the Bharata race, set out with the numerous Brahmanas and entered the sacred and enchanting woods of Dvaita.' ॥ 3-25-16 ॥

तच छाल तालाम्र मधूकनीप; कदम्बसर्जार्जुन कर्णिकारैः तपात्यये पुष्पधरैर उपेतं; महावनं राष्ट्रपतिर ददर्श ॥ ३-२५-१७ ॥
'The king gazed upon the vast forest, where, at the close of summer, sal, palm, mango, madhuka, nipa, kadamba, sarja, arjuna, and karnikara trees stood tall, many of them adorned with blossoms.' ॥ 3-25-17 ॥

महाद्रुमाणां शिखरेषु तस्थुर; मनॊरमां वाचम उदीरयन्तः मयूरदात्यूह चकॊर संघास; तस्मिन वने काननकॊकिलाश च ॥ ३-२५-१८ ॥
'Flocks of peacocks, datyuhas, chakoras, varhins, and kokilas, perched on the tallest trees of the forest, poured forth their melodious songs.' ॥ 3-25-18 ॥

करेणुयूथैः सह यूथपानां; मदॊत्कटानाम अचलप्रभाणाम महान्ति यूथानि महाद्विपानां; तस्मिन वने राष्ट्रपतिर ददर्श ॥ ३-२५-१९ ॥
'The king also observed in that forest vast herds of gigantic elephants, as immense as hills, their tusks dripping with rutting juice, accompanied by herds of female elephants.' ॥ 3-25-19 ॥

मनॊरमां भॊगवतीम उपेत्य; धृतात्मानं चीरजटा धराणाम तस्मिन वने धर्मभृतां निवासे; ददर्श सिद्धर्षिगणान अनेकान ॥ ३-२५-२० ॥
'Approaching the enchanting Bhogavati (Saraswati), the king observed many successful ascetics residing in that forest, along with virtuous men dressed in bark and adorned with matted locks.' ॥ 3-25-20 ॥
