ततः शाल्वं गदां गुर्वीम आविध्यन्तं महाहवे दविधा चकार सहसा परजज्वाल च तेजसा ॥ ३-२३-३६ ॥
'Then, in the great battle, [the Chakra] swiftly split the mighty mace-wielding Shalva into two and blazed forth with its brilliant radiance.' ॥ 3-23-36 ॥

तस्मिन निपतिते वीरे दानवास तरस्तचेतसः हाहाभूता दिशॊ जग्मुर अर्दिता मम सायकैः ॥ ३-२३-३७ ॥
'Upon the fall of that hero, the Danavas, terrified and distressed, fled in all directions, their cries of anguish echoing as they were struck by my arrows.' ॥ 3-23-37 ॥

ततॊ ऽहं समवस्थाप्य रथं सौभसमीपतः शङ्खं परध्माप्य हर्षेण मुहृदः पर्यहर्षयम ॥ ३-२३-३८ ॥
'I then took my chariot to the front of the city of Saubha, and with a joyful heart, I blew my conch, bringing cheer to my friends.' ॥ 3-23-38 ॥

तन मेरुशिखराकारं विध्वस्ताट्टाल गॊपुरम दह्यमानम अभिप्रेक्ष्य सत्रियस ताः संप्रदुद्रुवुः ॥ ३-२३-३९ ॥
'Seeing the Saubha chariot, which was like the peak of Mount Meru, with its towers and fortifications destroyed and burning, the women inside it fled in terror.' ॥ 3-23-39 ॥

एवं निहत्य समरे शाल्वं सौभं निपात्य च आनर्तान पुनर आगम्य सुहृदां परीतिम आवहम ॥ ३-२३-४० ॥
'Having destroyed the city of Saubha and slain Salwa, I returned to the Anarttas, bringing great joy to my friends.' ॥ 3-23-40 ॥
