संपूज्यमानस तरिदशैर अभिवाद्य महेश्वरम शुशुभे कृत्तिका पुत्रः परकीर्णांशुर इवांशुमान ।। ३-२२१-७१ ।।

sanskrit

'And the gods came to congratulate him, and he, in turn, paid his respects to Maheswara. That son of Krittika (Skanda) appeared magnificent, like the sun in all his radiant glory.' ।। 3-221-71 ।।

english translation

saMpUjyamAnasa taridazaira abhivAdya mahezvarama zuzubhe kRttikA putraH parakIrNAMzura ivAMzumAna || 3-221-71 ||

hk transliteration

नष्टशत्रुर यदा सकन्दः परयातश च महेश्वरम अथाब्रवीन महासेनं परिष्वज्य पुरंदरः ।। ३-२२१-७२ ।।

'When the enemy was completely vanquished by Skanda and when Maheswara departed from the battlefield, Purandara embraced Mahasena and spoke to him.' ।। 3-221-72 ।।

english translation

naSTazatrura yadA sakandaH parayAtaza ca mahezvarama athAbravIna mahAsenaM pariSvajya puraMdaraH || 3-221-72 ||

बरह्मदत्तवरः सकन्द तवयायं महिषॊ हतः देवास तृणमया यस्य बभूवुर जयतां वर सॊ ऽयं तवया महाबाहॊ शमितॊ देवकण्टकः ।। ३-२२१-७३ ।।

'This Mahisha, who was made invincible by the favor of Brahma, has been slain by you. O best of warriors, the gods were like grass before him. O strong-limbed hero, you have removed a thorn from the side of the celestials.' ।। 3-221-73 ।।

barahmadattavaraH sakanda tavayAyaM mahiSò hataH devAsa tRNamayA yasya babhUvura jayatAM vara sò 'yaM tavayA mahAbAhò zamitò devakaNTakaH || 3-221-73 ||

शतं महिषतुल्यानां दानवानां तवया रणे निहतं देवशत्रूणां यैर वयं पूर्वतापिताः ।। ३-२२१-७४ ।।

sanskrit

'You have killed in battle hundreds of Danavas, equal in valor to Mahisha, who were once hostile to us and caused us great distress. And your followers, too, have devoured them by the hundreds.' ।। 3-221-74 ।।

zataM mahiSatulyAnAM dAnavAnAM tavayA raNe nihataM devazatrUNAM yaira vayaM pUrvatApitAH || 3-221-74 ||
