बरह्मदत्तवरः सकन्द तवयायं महिषॊ हतः देवास तृणमया यस्य बभूवुर जयतां वर सॊ ऽयं तवया महाबाहॊ शमितॊ देवकण्टकः ॥ ३-२२१-७३ ॥
'This Mahisha, who was made invincible by the favor of Brahma, has been slain by you. O best of warriors, the gods were like grass before him. O strong-limbed hero, you have removed a thorn from the side of the celestials.' ॥ 3-221-73 ॥
