संभूतं लॊहितॊदे तु शॊक्र शेषम अवापतत सूर्यरश्मिषु चाप्य अन्यद अन्यच चैवापतद भुवि आसक्तम अन्यद वृक्षेषु तद एवं पञ्चधापतत ॥ ३-२२०-११ ॥
'A portion of it fell into the Blood Sea, another portion into the rays of the sun, and another upon the earth; thus, it was distributed into five portions.' ॥ 3-220-11 ॥
english translation
saMbhUtaM lòhitòde tu zòkra zeSama avApatata sUryarazmiSu cApya anyada anyaca caivApatada bhuvi Asaktama anyada vRkSeSu tada evaM paJcadhApatata ॥ 3-220-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptत एते विविधाकारा गणा जञेया मनीषिभिः तव पारिषदा घॊरा य एते पिशिताशनाः ॥ ३-२२०-१२ ॥
'Learned men should recognize that these fierce and varied followers of yours, who feast on the flesh of animals, were born from the semen.' ॥ 3-220-12 ॥

ta ete vividhAkArA gaNA jaJeyA manISibhiH tava pAriSadA ghòrA ya ete pizitAzanAH ॥ 3-220-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवम अस्त्व इति चाप्य उक्त्वा महासेनॊ महेश्वरम अपूजयद अमेयात्मा पितरं पितृवत्सलः ॥ ३-२२०-१३ ॥
''So be it,' thus saying, the high-souled Mahasena, with fatherly affection, honored his father Maheswara.' ॥ 3-220-13 ॥

evama astva iti cApya uktvA mahAsenò mahezvarama apUjayada ameyAtmA pitaraM pitRvatsalaH ॥ 3-220-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअर्कपुष्पैस तु ते पञ्च गणाः पूज्या धनार्थिभि वयाधिप्रशमनार्थं च तेषां पूजां समाचरेत ॥ ३-२२०-१४ ॥
'Markandeya continued, "Men who seek to acquire wealth should worship these five classes of spirits with sunflower offerings. Likewise, those desiring relief from diseases should also perform their worship."' ॥ 3-220-14 ॥

arkapuSpaisa tu te paJca gaNAH pUjyA dhanArthibhi vayAdhiprazamanArthaM ca teSAM pUjAM samAcareta ॥ 3-220-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमिञ्जिका मिञ्जिकं चैव मिथुनं रुद्र संभवम नमः कार्यं सदैवेह बालानां हितम इच्छता ॥ ३-२२०-१५ ॥
'Markandeya continued, "The twin Mujika and Minjika, begotten by Rudra, must always be respected by those desiring the welfare of little children."' ॥ 3-220-15 ॥
