[मातरस] यास तु ता मातरः पूर्वं लॊकस्यास्य परकल्पिताः अस्माकं तद भवेत सथानं तासां चैव न तद भवेत ॥ ३-२१९-१६ ॥
'The mothers replied, 'In times of yore, Brahmi, Maheswari, and others were appointed as the mothers of the world. We, O great god, desire that they be deprived of that honor, and that we be placed in their stead. '' ॥ 3-219-16 ॥
english translation
भवेम पूज्या लॊकस्य न ताः पूज्याः सुरर्षभ परजास्माकं हृतास ताभिस तवत्कृते ताः परयच्छ नः ॥ ३-२१९-१७ ॥
'We wish to be worshipped in their place. Furthermore, restore to us the progeny that was taken from us by them, due to thy intervention.' ॥ 3-219-17 ॥
english translation
[सकन्द] दत्ताः परजा न ताः शक्या भवतीभिर निषेवितुम अन्यां वः कां परयच्छामि परजां यां मनसेच्छथ ॥ ३-२१९-१८ ॥
'Skanda replied, "Ye shall not recover those that have been once given away, but I can give you other offspring if ye like."' ॥ 3-219-18 ॥
english translation
[मातरस] इच्छाम तासां मातॄणां परजा भॊक्तुं परयच्छ नः तवया सह पृथग भूता ये च तासाम अथेश्वराः ॥ ३-२१९-१९ ॥
'The mothers replied, "We desire that, living with thee and assuming different forms, we may be able to devour the progeny of those mothers and their guardians. Do thou grant us this favour."' ॥ 3-219-19 ॥
english translation
[सकन्द] परजा वॊ दद्मि कष्टं तु भवतीभिर उदाहृतम परिरक्षत भद्रं वः परजाः साधु नमस्कृताः ॥ ३-२१९-२० ॥
'Skanda said, 'I can grant you progeny, but the matter you have just discussed is indeed a painful one. May you be prosperous! All honour to you, ladies, do grant them your protective care.'' ॥ 3-219-20 ॥
