आगम्य मनुजव्याघ्रसहदेव्या परंतप अर्चयाम आस सुप्रीतॊ भगवान गॊवृषध्वजः ॥ ३-२१८-२६ ॥
'And, O great man and vanquisher of foes, the worshipful god bearing the bull emblem had arrived there earlier with Parvati.' ॥ 3-218-26 ॥
english translation
रुद्रम अग्निं दविजाः पराहू रुद्र सूनुस ततस तु सः रुद्रेण शुक्रम उत्सृष्टं तच छवेतः पर्वतॊ ऽभवत पावकस्येन्द्रियं शवेते कृत्तिकाभिः कृतं नगे ॥ ३-२१८-२७ ॥
'With a joyous heart, he honored him. The Fire-god is referred to as Rudra by the Brahmanas, and for this reason, Skanda is known as the son of Rudra. The White Mountain emerged from the discharge of Rudra's virile seed, and it was on this very mountain that the Fire-god's union with the Krittikas took place.' ॥ 3-218-27 ॥

पूज्यमानं तु रुद्रेण दृष्ट्वा सर्वे दिवौकसः रुद्र सूनुं ततः पराहुर गुहं गुणवतां वरम ॥ ३-२१८-२८ ॥
'And as Rudra was seen by all the dwellers of heaven bestowing honors upon the noble Guha (Skanda), he was henceforth known as the son of Rudra.' ॥ 3-218-28 ॥

अनुप्रविश्य रुद्रेण वह्निं जातॊ हय अयं शिशुः तत्र जातस ततः सकन्दॊ रुद्र सूनुस ततॊ ऽभवत ॥ ३-२१८-२९ ॥
'This child came into being through the action of Rudra merging with the essence of the Fire-god, and for this reason, Skanda became known as the son of Rudra.' ॥ 3-218-29 ॥

रुद्रस्य वह्नेः सवाहायाः षण्णां सत्रीणां च तेजसा जातः सकन्दः सुरश्रेष्ठॊ रुद्र सूनुस ततॊ ऽभवत ॥ ३-२१८-३० ॥
'And, O Bharata, since Rudra, the Fire-god, Swaha, and the six wives of the seven Rishis played key roles in the birth of the great god Skanda, he was, for this reason, revered as the son of Rudra.' ॥ 3-218-30 ॥
