अचरन्त तपस तीव्रं पुत्रार्थे बहु वार्षिकम पुत्रं लभेम धर्मिष्ठं यशसा बरह्मणा समम ।। ३-२१०-२ ।।

sanskrit

'Uktha performed a severe penance for many years, seeking to obtain a pious son whose reputation would be equal to that of Brahma. He desired a son who would be righteous and endowed with the same fame as Brahma himself.' ।। 3-210-2 ।।

english translation

acaranta tapasa tIvraM putrArthe bahu vArSikama putraM labhema dharmiSThaM yazasA barahmaNA samama || 3-210-2 ||
