अचरन्त तपस तीव्रं पुत्रार्थे बहु वार्षिकम पुत्रं लभेम धर्मिष्ठं यशसा बरह्मणा समम ॥ ३-२१०-२ ॥

'Uktha performed a severe penance for many years, seeking to obtain a pious son whose reputation would be equal to that of Brahma. He desired a son who would be righteous and endowed with the same fame as Brahma himself.' ॥ 3-210-2 ॥

acaranta tapasa tIvraM putrArthe bahu vArSikama putraM labhema dharmiSThaM yazasA barahmaNA samama ॥ 3-210-2 ॥
