[मार्क] काश्यपॊ हय अथ वासिष्ठः पराणश च पराणपुत्रकः अग्निर आङ्गिरसश चैव चयवनस तरिषु वर्चकः ॥ ३-२१०-१ ॥
'When the invocation was performed using the vyahriti hymns and with the support of the five sacred fires, the energies of Kasyapa, Vasistha, Prana (the son of Prana), Chyavana (the son of Angiras), and Suvarchaka combined, and a brilliant force arose, full of the animating creative principle, manifesting in five distinct colors.' ॥ 3-210-1 ॥

अचरन्त तपस तीव्रं पुत्रार्थे बहु वार्षिकम पुत्रं लभेम धर्मिष्ठं यशसा बरह्मणा समम ॥ ३-२१०-२ ॥
'Uktha performed a severe penance for many years, seeking to obtain a pious son whose reputation would be equal to that of Brahma. He desired a son who would be righteous and endowed with the same fame as Brahma himself.' ॥ 3-210-2 ॥

महाव्याहृतिभिर धयातः पञ्चभिस तैस तदा तव अथ जज्ञे तेजॊमयॊ ऽरचिष्मान पञ्च वर्णः परभावनः ॥ ३-२१०-३ ॥
'While meditating upon the great Vyahrti hymns, and with the aid of the five sacred fires, a luminous and radiant being was born, endowed with five different colors, full of energy and power.' ॥ 3-210-3 ॥

समिद्धॊ ऽगनिः शिरस तस्य बाहू सूर्यनिभौ तथा तवङ नेत्रे च सुवर्णाभे कृष्णे जङ्घे च भारत ॥ ३-२१०-४ ॥
'The being's head was of the color of blazing fire, its arms shone like the sun, its skin and eyes were golden, and its feet, O Bharata, were black.' ॥ 3-210-4 ॥

पञ्च वर्णः स तपसा कृतस तैः पञ्चभिर जनैः पाञ्चजन्यः शरुतॊ वेदे पञ्च वंशकरस तु सः ॥ ३-२१०-५ ॥
'This celestial being, therefore, is described as belonging to the five men and is the progenitor of five tribes.' ॥ 3-210-5 ॥
