लक्षणं तु परसादस्य यथा तृप्तः सुखं सवपेत निवाते वा यथा दीपॊ दीप्येत कुशलदीपितः ॥ ३-२०३-३६ ॥
'That state of peace and purification of the heart is compared to a person who, in a cheerful state of mind, sleeps soundly, or to the brilliance of a lamp, skillfully trimmed, shining brightly.' ॥ 3-203-36 ॥

lakSaNaM tu parasAdasya yathA tRptaH sukhaM savapeta nivAte vA yathA dIpò dIpyeta kuzaladIpitaH ॥ 3-203-36 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपूर्वरात्रे परे चैव युञ्जानः सततं मनः लब्धाहारॊ विशुद्धात्मा पश्यन्न आत्मानम आत्मनि ॥ ३-२०३-३७ ॥
'Such a pure-minded person, living on a simple diet, perceives the Supreme Spirit reflected within himself.' ॥ 3-203-37 ॥

pUrvarAtre pare caiva yuJjAnaH satataM manaH labdhAhArò vizuddhAtmA pazyanna AtmAnama Atmani ॥ 3-203-37 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरदीप्तेनेव दीपेन मनॊ दीपेन पश्यति दृष्ट्वात्मानं निरात्मानं तदा स तु विमुच्यते ॥ ३-२०३-३८ ॥
'By practicing concentration of the mind during the evening and the early hours of the night, he sees the Supreme Spirit, which is beyond attributes, shining like a radiant lamp in the light of his heart. In this way, he attains salvation.' ॥ 3-203-38 ॥

paradIpteneva dIpena manò dIpena pazyati dRSTvAtmAnaM nirAtmAnaM tadA sa tu vimucyate ॥ 3-203-38 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसर्वॊपायैस तु लॊभस्य करॊधस्य च विनिग्रहः एतत पवित्रं यज्ञानां तपॊ वै संक्रमॊ मतः ॥ ३-२०३-३९ ॥
'Avarice and anger must be subdued by all means, for this act constitutes the most sacred of virtues, enabling individuals to cross over the turbulent sea of suffering and affliction.' ॥ 3-203-39 ॥

sarvòpAyaisa tu lòbhasya karòdhasya ca vinigrahaH etata pavitraM yajJAnAM tapò vai saMkramò mataH ॥ 3-203-39 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनित्यं करॊधात तपॊ रक्षेच छरियं रक्षेत मत्सरात विद्यां मानापमानाभ्याम आत्मानं तु परमादतः ॥ ३-२०३-४० ॥
'A person must protect his righteousness from being tainted by the destructive effects of anger, safeguard his virtues from the corrupting influence of pride, preserve his learning from the perils of vanity, and shield his spirit from the illusions that obscure his true nature.' ॥ 3-203-40 ॥
