शरेष्ठं तद एव भूतानां बरह्म जयॊतिर उपास्महे सजन्तुः सर्वभूतात्मा पुरुषः स सनातनः मनॊ बुद्धिर अहंकारॊ भूतानां विषयश च सः ।। ३-२०३-१६ ।।

sanskrit

'It is the highest of a creature's possessions, the essence of the Supreme Spirit, and we venerate it. It is the animating principle of all beings, the eternal Purusha (spirit). It is vast, encompassing both intelligence and ego, and serves as the subjective seat for the various properties of the elements.' ।। 3-203-16 ।।

english translation

zareSThaM tada eva bhUtAnAM barahma jayòtira upAsmahe sajantuH sarvabhUtAtmA puruSaH sa sanAtanaH manò buddhira ahaMkArò bhUtAnAM viSayaza ca saH || 3-203-16 ||
