रागद्वेषविनिर्मुक्ता ऐश्वर्यं देवता गताः रुद्राः साध्यास तथादित्या वसवॊ ऽथाश्विनाव अपि यॊगैश्वर्येण संयुक्ता धारयन्ति परजा इमाः ।। ३-२-७६ ।।

sanskrit

'By renouncing desire and aversion, the gods have attained prosperity. It is through their wealth of yoga that the Rudras, the Sadhyas, the Adityas, the Vasus, and the twin Aswins govern the creatures.' ।। 3-2-76 ।।

english translation

rAgadveSavinirmuktA aizvaryaM devatA gatAH rudrAH sAdhyAsa tathAdityA vasavò 'thAzvinAva api yògaizvaryeNa saMyuktA dhArayanti parajA imAH || 3-2-76 ||

तथा तवम अपि कौन्तेय शमम आस्थाय पुष्कलम तपसा सिद्धिम अन्विच्छ यॊगसिद्धिं च भारत ।। ३-२-७७ ।।

'Therefore, O son of Kunti, like them, strive to achieve success in yoga and through ascetic practices, refraining from action driven by personal motives.' ।। 3-2-77 ।।

english translation

tathA tavama api kaunteya zamama AsthAya puSkalama tapasA siddhima anviccha yògasiddhiM ca bhArata || 3-2-77 ||

पितृमातृमयी सिद्धिः पराप्ता कर्ममयी च ते तपसा सिद्धिम अन्विच्छ कुर्वते तद अनुग्रहात ।। ३-२-७८ ।।

'You have already fulfilled your duties to your ancestors, both male and female and achieved success through your actions, including sacrifices. Now, for the sake of serving the learned and virtuous, strive to attain success through penance.' ।। 3-2-78 ।।

english translation

'Those who are accomplished in asceticism can achieve whatever they desire through the power of their austerities. Therefore, practice asceticism and realize all your aspirations.' ।। 3-2-79 ।।

siddhA hi yada yada icchanti kurvate tada anugrahAta tasmAta tapaH samAsthAya kuruSvAtma manòrathama || 3-2-79 ||
