पूर्वं हि विहितं कर्म देहिनं न विमुञ्चति धात्रा विधिर अयं दृष्टॊ बहुधा कर्म निर्णये ॥ ३-१९९-१६ ॥
'The karma of a previous existence never abandons any being. In determining the various consequences of one’s karma, the Creator did not overlook this principle.' ॥ 3-199-16 ॥
english translation
दरष्टव्यं तु भवेत पराज्ञ करूरे कर्मणि वर्तता कथं कर्म शुभं कुर्यां कथं मुच्ये पराभवात कर्मणस तस्य घॊरस्य बहुधा निर्णयॊ भवेत ॥ ३-१९९-१७ ॥
'A person who is under the influence of negative karma must always reflect on how to atone for it and free themselves from an adverse fate. Such negative karma can be expiated in various ways.' ॥ 3-199-17 ॥
english translation
दाने च सत्यवाक्ये च गुरुशुश्रूषणे तथा दविजातिपूजने चाहं धर्मे च निरतः सदा अतिवादातिमानाभ्यां निवृत्तॊ ऽसमि दविजॊत्तम ॥ ३-१९९-१८ ॥
'Therefore, O noble Brahmana, I am charitable, truthful, diligent in serving my superiors, respectful towards the revered Brahmanas, devoted to righteousness, and free from pride and excessive, idle talk.' ॥ 3-199-18 ॥

कृषिं साध्व इति मन्यन्ते तत्र हिंसा परा समृता कर्षन्तॊ लाङ्गलैः पुंसॊ घनन्ति भूमिशयान बहून जीवान अन्यांश च बहुशस तत्र किं परतिभाति ते ॥ ३-१९९-१९ ॥
'Agriculture is regarded as a noble occupation, yet it is well-known that even in this, significant harm is inflicted upon animal life. The act of plowing the earth destroys countless creatures hidden within the soil, along with various other forms of life. Do you not agree?' ॥ 3-199-19 ॥

धान्यबीजानि यान्य आहुर वरीह्य आदीनि दविजॊत्तम सर्वाण्य एतानि जीवन्ति तत्र किं परतिभाति ते ॥ ३-१९९-२० ॥
'O noble Brahmana, rice (vrihi) and other seeds are all living beings. What is your view on this matter?' ॥ 3-199-20 ॥
