[य] क एष भगवन दैत्यॊ महावीर्यस तपॊधन कस्य पुत्रॊ ऽथ नप्ता वा एतद इच्छामि वेदितुम ।। ३-१९४-६ ।।

sanskrit

'Yudhishthira said, "O holy one, O you who are endowed with the wealth of asceticism, who was this Daitya of great energy? Whose son and whose grandson was he?"' ।। 3-194-6 ।।

english translation

[ya] ka eSa bhagavana daityò mahAvIryasa tapòdhana kasya putrò 'tha naptA vA etada icchAmi vedituma || 3-194-6 ||

'I have never heard of this mighty Daitya before. I truly wish to know all about him, O sage, with every detail, for you are a person of great wisdom and ascetic wealth!' ।। 3-194-7 ।।

evaM mahAbalò daityò na zarutò me tapòdhana etada icchAmi bhagavana yAthAtathyena vedituma sarvama eva mahAprAjJa vistareNa tapòdhana || 3-194-7 ||

[मार्क] शृणु राजन्न इदं सर्वं यथावृत्तं नराधिप एकार्णवे तदा घॊरे नष्टे सथावरजङ्गमे परनष्टेषु च भूतेषु सर्वेषु भरतर्षभ ।। ३-१९४-८ ।।

sanskrit

'Markandeya said, "O monarch, listen to everything as it truly happened, O ruler of men, as I narrate the details with utmost sincerity, O thou of great wisdom! When the entire world became a vast ocean and all creatures, both mobile and immobile, were destroyed, when, O bull of the Bharata race, the entire creation came to its end..."' ।। 3-194-8 ।।

[mArka] zRNu rAjanna idaM sarvaM yathAvRttaM narAdhipa ekArNave tadA ghòre naSTe sathAvarajaGgame paranaSTeSu ca bhUteSu sarveSu bharatarSabha || 3-194-8 ||

परभवः सर्वभूतानां शाश्वतः पुरुषॊ ऽवययः सुष्वाप भगवान विष्णुर अप शय्याम एक एव ह नागस्य भॊगे महति शेषस्यामित तेजसः ।। ३-१९४-९ ।।

'He who is the Source and Creator of the Universe, the Eternal and imperishable Vishnu, who is revered by the Munis crowned with ascetic success as the Supreme Lord of the Universe, that Being of great holiness, then lay in Yogic sleep on the expansive hood of the serpent Shesha, endowed with immeasurable energy.' ।। 3-194-9 ।।

parabhavaH sarvabhUtAnAM zAzvataH puruSò 'vayayaH suSvApa bhagavAna viSNura apa zayyAma eka eva ha nAgasya bhòge mahati zeSasyAmita tejasaH || 3-194-9 ||

'The Creator of the Universe, that highly-blessed and holy Hari, who is imperishable, lay on the hood of the serpent that encircled the entire Earth.' ।। 3-194-10 ।।

lòkakartA mahAbhAga bhagavAna acyutò hariH nAgabhògena mahatA parirabhya mahIma imAma || 3-194-10 ||
