[मार्क] दयावान सर्वभूतेषु हितॊ रक्तॊ ऽनसूयकः अपत्यानाम इव सवेषां परजानां रक्षणे रतः चर धर्मं तयजाधर्मं पितॄन देवांश च पूजय ।। ३-१८९-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'Markandeya, hearing this, replied, "Be compassionate towards all creatures and devoted to their well-being. Show love to all beings, without harboring contempt for any. Speak the truth, remain humble, control your passions, and always be dedicated to the protection of your people. Embrace virtue and renounce sin. Worship the ancestors and the gods, and whatever wrongs you may have committed, whether through ignorance or negligence, cleanse them through acts of charity and atonement."' ।। 3-189-21 ।।

'Renounce pride and vanity, and cultivate humility and good conduct. Conquer the entire earth with your righteousness, and let happiness be yours. This is the path of conduct that aligns with virtue.' ।। 3-189-22 ।।

'I have imparted to you all that is considered virtuous, both in the past and in the future. There is nothing pertaining to either that remains unknown to you.' ।। 3-189-23 ।।

'Nothing in the past or future on this Earth Is unknown to you, Therefore, O dear one (tata), Do not hold this distress in your heart.' ।। 3-189-24 ।।

'The wise are never overwhelmed when persecuted by Time. O mighty-armed one, even the celestial beings cannot transcend Time. Time afflicts all creatures.' ।। 3-189-25 ।।
