[मार्क] दयावान सर्वभूतेषु हितॊ रक्तॊ ऽनसूयकः अपत्यानाम इव सवेषां परजानां रक्षणे रतः चर धर्मं तयजाधर्मं पितॄन देवांश च पूजय ।। ३-१८९-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'Markandeya, hearing this, replied, "Be compassionate towards all creatures and devoted to their well-being. Show love to all beings, without harboring contempt for any. Speak the truth, remain humble, control your passions, and always be dedicated to the protection of your people. Embrace virtue and renounce sin. Worship the ancestors and the gods, and whatever wrongs you may have committed, whether through ignorance or negligence, cleanse them through acts of charity and atonement."' ।। 3-189-21 ।।

[mArka] dayAvAna sarvabhUteSu hitò raktò 'nasUyakaH apatyAnAma iva saveSAM parajAnAM rakSaNe rataH cara dharmaM tayajAdharmaM pitRRna devAMza ca pUjaya || 3-189-21 ||
