नरा दानेषु निरता वरतेषु नियमेषु च जपयज्ञपरा विप्रा धर्मकामा मुदा युताः पालयिष्यन्ति राजानॊ धर्मेणेमां वसुंधराम ।। ३-१८९-११ ।।

sanskrit

'People will be devoted to charity (dana), Committed to vows (vrata) and religious observances (niyama), The Brahmins will be dedicated to chanting mantras (japa) and performing sacrifices (yajna), They will be desirous of dharma and filled with joy, And kings will protect this Earth according to dharma (righteousness).' ।। 3-189-11 ।।

'In the Krita Yuga, The Vaishyas will be devoted to commerce/trade (vyavahara), The Brahmins will be dedicated to their six prescribed duties, And the Kshatriyas will be devoted to protection..' ।। 3-189-12 ।।

'The Shudras will be devoted to serving The other three varnas (classes), This was the dharma in Krita Yuga, As well as in Treta and Dwapara (ages), And this has been declared to you For the western/final age (Kali Yuga) as well.' ।। 3-189-13 ।।

'These, O Yudhishthira, are the courses of the Krita, Treta, Dwapara, and the succeeding age. I have now narrated all of this to you. I have also explained to you, O son of Pandu, the periods that correspond to each of the Yugas, as they are generally known. I have now told you everything regarding both the past and the future, as recounted by Vayu in the Purana that bears his name and is venerated by the Rishis.' ।। 3-189-14 ।।
