शवेतः कृतयुगे वर्णः पीतस तरेतायुगे मम रक्तॊ दवापरम आसाद्य कृष्णः कलियुगे तथा ।। ३-१८७-३१ ।।

sanskrit

'In the Krita age, I am white; in the Treta age, I am yellow; in the Dwapara age, I am red; and in the Kali age, I become dark.' ।। 3-187-31 ।।

english translation

zavetaH kRtayuge varNaH pItasa taretAyuge mama raktò davAparama AsAdya kRSNaH kaliyuge tathA || 3-187-31 ||

'In the Kali age, the proportion of immorality becomes three-fourths, with only a fourth remaining for morality. And when the end of the Yuga comes, assuming the fierce form of Death, I alone destroy all the three worlds along with their mobile and immobile existences.' ।। 3-187-32 ।।

'With three strides, I cover the entire Universe; I am the Soul of all that exists; I am the source of all happiness; I humble all pride; I am omnipresent and infinite; I am the Lord of the senses; my power is boundless.' ।। 3-187-33 ।।
