अतसी पुष्पवर्णाभः शरीवत्स कृतलक्षणः साक्षाल लक्ष्म्या इवावासः स तदा परतिभाति मे ।। ३-१८६-८६ ।।

'Endowed with the luster of the Atasi flower and adorned with the mark of Sreevatsa, he seemed to me to be the very abode of Lakshmi herself.' ।। 3-186-86 ।।

english translation

atasI puSpavarNAbhaH zarIvatsa kRtalakSaNaH sAkSAla lakSmyA ivAvAsaH sa tadA paratibhAti me || 3-186-86 ||

ततॊ माम अब्रवीद बालः स पद्मनिभ लॊचनः शरीवत्स धारी दयुतिमान वाक्यं शरुतिसुखावहम ।। ३-१८६-८७ ।।

'And that boy, with eyes like the petals of the lotus, bearing the mark of Sreevatsa and radiating brilliant effulgence, then spoke to me in words most pleasing to the ear, saying...' ।। 3-186-87 ।।

english translation

tatò mAma abravIda bAlaH sa padmanibha lòcanaH zarIvatsa dhArI dayutimAna vAkyaM zarutisukhAvahama || 3-186-87 ||

जानामि तवा परिश्रान्तं तात विश्रामकाङ्क्षिणम मार्कण्डेय इहास्स्व तवं यावद इच्छसि भार्गव ।। ३-१८६-८८ ।।

'O sire, I know you to be weary and longing for rest. O Markandeya, of the Bhrigu lineage, rest here as long as you desire.' ।। 3-186-88 ।।

jAnAmi tavA parizrAntaM tAta vizrAmakAGkSiNama mArkaNDeya ihAssva tavaM yAvada icchasi bhArgava || 3-186-88 ||

अभ्यन्तरं शरीरं मे परविश्य मुनिसत्तम आस्स्व भॊ विहितॊ वासः परसादस ते कृतॊ मया ।। ३-१८६-८९ ।।

'O best of the sages, enter within my body and rest there, for that is the abode I have assigned to you. I am pleased with you.' ।। 3-186-89 ।।

abhyantaraM zarIraM me paravizya munisattama Assva bhò vihitò vAsaH parasAdasa te kRtò mayA || 3-186-89 ||

'Thus addressed by the boy, I was overtaken by a profound sense of indifference towards both my long life and my state of manhood.' ।। 3-186-90 ।।
