तान अब्रवीत स विप्रर्षिः कथं वॊ बराह्मणॊ हतः कव चासौ बरूत सहिताः पश्यध्वं मे तपॊबलम ॥ ३-१८२-११ ॥
'The venerable sage said to them, "How has a Brahmana been slain by you? Where is he now? Behold the power of my asceticism!"' ॥ 3-182-11 ॥
english translation
ते तु तत सर्वम अखिलम आख्यायास्मै यथातथम नापश्यंस तम ऋषिं तत्र गतासुं ते समागताः अन्वेषमाणाः सव्रीडाः सवप्नवद गतमानसाः ॥ ३-१८२-१२ ॥
'They recounted everything to him as it had occurred, and then returned to the place. However, they could not find the body of the deceased sage where they had left it. After searching in vain, they returned, ashamed and bewildered, their minds clouded, as though they had been in a dream.' ॥ 3-182-12 ॥
english translation
तान अब्रवीत तत्र मुनिस तार्क्ष्यः परपुरंजयः सयाद अयं बराह्मणः सॊ ऽथ यॊ युष्माभिर निवाशितः पुत्रॊ हय अयं मम नृपास तपॊबलसमन्वितः ॥ ३-१८२-१३ ॥
'There, the sage Tarksya Prapuranjaya told them: 'This Brahmin whom you have settled here could be the one. O kings, this is my son, endowed with the power of penance.'' ॥ 3-182-13 ॥
english translation
ते तु दृष्ट्वैव तम ऋषिं विस्मयं परमं गताः महद आश्चर्यम इति वै विब्रुवाणा महीपते ॥ ३-१८२-१४ ॥
'Seeing the Muni, they were filled with supreme astonishment, and exclaimed, "This is indeed a great wonder!" thus spoke the kings in awe.' ॥ 3-182-14 ॥
english translation
मृतॊ हय अयम अतॊ दृष्टः कथं जीवितम आप्तवान किम एतत तपसॊ वीर्यं यनायं जीवितः पुनः शरॊतुम इच्छाम विप्रर्षे यदि शरॊतव्यम इत्य उत ॥ ३-१८२-१५ ॥
'How is it that this one who was seen dead has obtained life again? What is this power of penance by which he has been revived? O great sage among Brahmins, we wish to hear about this, if it is worthy of being heard.' ॥ 3-182-15 ॥
