राज्ञां राजीवनेत्रासौ कुमारः पृथिवीपते तेषां च तद यथावृत्तं कथयाम आस वै तदा ॥ ३-१८२-६ ॥
'The young prince, whose eyes resembled lotuses, the ruler of the earth, then recounted the entire incident to the kings, as it had transpired.' ॥ 3-182-6 ॥
english translation
तं चापि हिंसितं तात मुनिं मूलफलाशिनम शरुत्वा दृष्ट्वाच ते तत्र बभूवुर दीनमानसाः ॥ ३-१८२-७ ॥
'On hearing the account, O my son, and seeing the body of the Muni who had lived on fruits and roots, they were deeply distressed in mind.' ॥ 3-182-7 ॥
english translation
कस्यायम इति ते सर्वे मार्गमाणास ततस ततः जग्मुश चारिष्टनेमेस ते तार्क्ष्यस्याश्रमम अञ्जसा ॥ ३-१८२-८ ॥
'Searching everywhere and wondering 'Whose is this?', they all proceeded directly to the hermitage of Arishta-nemi, who was like Tarkshya (Garuda).' ॥ 3-182-8 ॥
english translation
ते ऽभिवाद्य महात्मानं तं मुनिं संशितव्रतम तस्थुः सर्वे सतु मुनिस तेषां पूजाम अथाहरत ॥ ३-१८२-९ ॥
'Saluting that great Muni, steadfast in his austerities, they all stood respectfully, while the Muni, for his part, attentively attended to their reception.' ॥ 3-182-9 ॥
english translation
ते तम ऊचुर महात्मानं न वयं सत्क्रियां मुने तवत्तॊ ऽरहाः कर्म दॊषेण बराह्मणॊ हिंसितॊ हि नः ॥ ३-१८२-१० ॥
'They said to the illustrious Muni, "By a twist of fate, we no longer deserve your hospitality, for we have inadvertently killed a Brahmana!"' ॥ 3-182-10 ॥
