ये यॊगयुक्तास तपसि परसक्ताः; सवाध्यायशीला जरयन्ति देहान जितेन्द्रिया भूतहिते निविष्टास; तेषाम असौ नायम अरिघ्न लॊकः ।। ३-१८१-३६ ।।

sanskrit

'Those who are devoted to yoga, engrossed in austerities, dedicated to self-study, and who diminish their bodies through spiritual discipline, who have mastered their senses and are focused on the welfare of all beings, for them, O slayer of enemies, this world does not belong to the conqueror of foes.' ।। 3-181-36 ।।

english translation

ye yògayuktAsa tapasi parasaktAH; savAdhyAyazIlA jarayanti dehAna jitendriyA bhUtahite niviSTAsa; teSAma asau nAyama arighna lòkaH || 3-181-36 ||

ये धर्मम एव परथमं चरन्ति; धर्मेण लब्ध्वा च धनानि काले दारान अवाप्य करतुभिर यजन्ते; तेषाम अयं चैव परश च लॊकः ।। ३-१८१-३७ ।।

sanskrit

'Those who first practice dharma (righteousness), obtain wealth through righteous means in due time, take a wife, and perform sacrificial rites - to them belongs both this world and the next.' ।। 3-181-37 ।।

english translation

ye dharmama eva parathamaM caranti; dharmeNa labdhvA ca dhanAni kAle dArAna avApya karatubhira yajante; teSAma ayaM caiva paraza ca lòkaH || 3-181-37 ||

ये नैव विद्यां न तपॊ न दानं; न चापि मूढाः परजने यतन्ते न चाधिगच्छन्ति सुखान्य अभाग्यास; तेषाम अयं चैव परश च नास्ति ।। ३-१८१-३८ ।।

'Those who have neither knowledge, nor penance, nor charity, who foolishly make no effort for others' welfare, these unfortunate ones who attain no happiness - for them there exists neither this world nor the next.' ।। 3-181-38 ।।

english translation

ye naiva vidyAM na tapò na dAnaM; na cApi mUDhAH parajane yatante na cAdhigacchanti sukhAnya abhAgyAsa; teSAma ayaM caiva paraza ca nAsti || 3-181-38 ||

सर्वे भवन्तस तव अतिवीर्यसत्त्वा; दिव्यौजसः संहननॊपपन्नाः लॊकाद अमुष्माद अवनिं परपन्नाः; सवधीत विद्याः सुरकार्यहेतॊः ।। ३-१८१-३९ ।।

sanskrit

'All of you possess extraordinary strength and valor, divine energy and physical prowess. You have descended to earth from that celestial realm, well-versed in knowledge, for the purpose of carrying out the tasks of the gods.' ।। 3-181-39 ।।

sarve bhavantasa tava ativIryasattvA; divyaujasaH saMhananòpapannAH lòkAda amuSmAda avaniM parapannAH; savadhIta vidyAH surakAryahetòH || 3-181-39 ||

'Having performed great deeds, these heroes who are devoted to austerity, self-control, and proper conduct, have duly satisfied all the gods, sages, and hosts of departed spirits through supreme rituals.' ।। 3-181-40 ।।
