ये नैव विद्यां न तपॊ न दानं; न चापि मूढाः परजने यतन्ते न चाधिगच्छन्ति सुखान्य अभाग्यास; तेषाम अयं चैव परश च नास्ति ॥ ३-१८१-३८ ॥

sanskrit

'Those who have neither knowledge, nor penance, nor charity, who foolishly make no effort for others' welfare, these unfortunate ones who attain no happiness - for them there exists neither this world nor the next.' ॥ 3-181-38 ॥

english translation

ye naiva vidyAM na tapò na dAnaM; na cApi mUDhAH parajane yatante na cAdhigacchanti sukhAnya abhAgyAsa; teSAma ayaM caiva paraza ca nAsti ॥ 3-181-38 ॥
