पीड्यमानासु मायासु तासु तास्व असुरेश्वराः पुनर बहुविधा मायाः पराकुर्वन्न अमितौजसः ॥ ३-१६८-२६ ॥

'And when their illusions were dispelled, the foremost among the Asuras, endowed with unrivaled prowess, once again conjured various kinds of illusions.' ॥ 3-168-26 ॥

english translation

pIDyamAnAsu mAyAsu tAsu tAsva asurezvarAH punara bahuvidhA mAyAH parAkurvanna amitaujasaH ॥ 3-168-26 ॥

पुनः परकाशम अभवत तमसा गरस्यते पुनः वरजत्य अदर्शनं लॊकः पुनर अप्सु निमज्जति ॥ ३-१६८-२७ ॥

'Thereupon, the world appeared, then was swallowed by darkness; it vanished from sight, only to be submerged once more beneath the waters.' ॥ 3-168-27 ॥

english translation

punaH parakAzama abhavata tamasA garasyate punaH varajatya adarzanaM lòkaH punara apsu nimajjati ॥ 3-168-27 ॥

सुसंगृहीतैर हरिभिः परकाशे सति मातलिः वयचरत सयन्दनाग्र्येण संग्रामे लॊमहर्षणे ॥ ३-१६८-२८ ॥

'And when the light returned, Mātali, seated at the front of the chariot with the well-trained steeds, began to traverse the battle, a scene that raised the hairs in awe.' ॥ 3-168-28 ॥

susaMgRhItaira haribhiH parakAze sati mAtaliH vayacarata sayandanAgryeNa saMgrAme lòmaharSaNe ॥ 3-168-28 ॥

ततः पर्यपतन्न उग्रा निवातकवचा मयि तान अहं विवरं दृष्ट्वा पराहिण्वं यमसादनम ॥ ३-१६८-२९ ॥

'Then, the fierce Nivata-Kavachas attacked me. Seizing my opportunity, I began sending them to Yama's realm.' ॥ 3-168-29 ॥

tataH paryapatanna ugrA nivAtakavacA mayi tAna ahaM vivaraM dRSTvA parAhiNvaM yamasAdanama ॥ 3-168-29 ॥

वर्तमाने तथा युद्धे निवातकवचान्तके नापश्यं सहसा सर्वान दानवान माययावृतान ॥ ३-१६८-३० ॥

'However, in the midst of that raging conflict, meant to swiftly annihilate the Nivata-Kavachas, I could not see the Danavas, concealed by their illusions.' ॥ 3-168-30 ॥

vartamAne tathA yuddhe nivAtakavacAntake nApazyaM sahasA sarvAna dAnavAna mAyayAvRtAna ॥ 3-168-30 ॥
