पितामहेन संहारः परजानां विहितॊ धरुवम न हि युद्धम इदं युक्तम अन्यत्र जगतः कषयात ॥ ३-१६८-२१ ॥
'Surely, the Great Father has ordained the destruction of all beings; for this battle can have no other purpose than the annihilation of the universe.' ॥ 3-168-21 ॥
english translation
तस्य तद वचनं शरुत्वा संस्तभ्यात्मानम आत्मना मॊहयिष्यन दानवानाम अहं मायामयं बलम ॥ ३-१६८-२२ ॥
'Having heard his words, I calmed my agitation through my own efforts and said to the terrified Mātali, 'I will destroy the mighty force of the illusion created by the Danavas.'' ॥ 3-168-22 ॥

अब्रुवं मातलिं भीतं पश्य मे भुजयॊर बलम अस्त्राणां च परभावं मे धनुषॊ गाण्डिवस्य च ॥ ३-१६८-२३ ॥
'I said to the fearful Mātali, 'Behold the power of my arms and the might of my weapons, as well as the strength of my Gandiva bow.'' ॥ 3-168-23 ॥
english translation
अद्यास्त्र माययैतेषां मायाम एतां सुदारुणाम विनिहन्मि तमश चॊग्रं मा भैः सूत सथिरॊ भव ॥ ३-१६८-२४ ॥
'Today, with the aid of my illusion-creating arms, I shall dispel this profound darkness and their terrifying illusion. Do not fear, O charioteer.' ॥ 3-168-24 ॥

एवम उक्त्वाहम असृजम अस्त्रमायां नराधिप मॊहिनीं सर्वशत्रूणां हिताय तरिदिवौकसाम ॥ ३-१६८-२५ ॥
'‘Pacify yourself,’ I said. Thus, O lord of men, I created an illusionary weapon for the benefit of the celestials, capable of bewildering all beings.' ॥ 3-168-25 ॥
