[अर्ज] ततॊ ऽशमवर्षं सुमहत परादुरासीत समन्ततः नगमात्रैर महाघॊरैस तन मां दृढम अपीडयत ॥ ३-१६८-१ ॥
'Arjuna said, "Then, a mighty shower of rocks, as large as trees, began to fall upon me, and it pressed me severely."' ॥ 3-168-1 ॥
english translation
तद अहं वज्रसंकाशैः शरैर इन्द्रास्त्र चॊदितैः अचूर्णयं वेगवद्भिः शतधैकैकम आहवे ॥ ३-१६८-२ ॥
'In that fierce battle, I shattered those crags with swift showers of arrows, discharged from Mahendra’s weapon, resembling the thunderbolt itself.' ॥ 3-168-2 ॥
english translation
चूर्ण्यमाने ऽशमवर्षे तु पावकः समजायत तत्राश्म चूर्णम अपतत पावकप्रकरा इव ॥ ३-१६८-३ ॥
'When the rocks were reduced to dust, a fire was kindled, and the shattered debris fell like masses of flame.' ॥ 3-168-3 ॥
english translation
ततॊ ऽशमवर्षे निहते जलवर्षं महत्तरम धाराभिर अक्षमात्राभिः परादुरासीन ममान्तके ॥ ३-१६८-४ ॥
'After the shower of rocks was repelled, a mightier downpour of water ensued, with torrents as large as an axle's width, falling upon me.' ॥ 3-168-4 ॥

नभसः परयुता धारास तिग्मवीर्याः सहस्रशः आवृण्वन सर्वतॊ वयॊम दिशश चॊपदिशस तथा ॥ ३-१६८-५ ॥
'The streams of water, driven by the clouds, possessing intense force and numbering in thousands, covered the entire sky in all directions, encompassing even the intermediate quarters.' ॥ 3-168-5 ॥
