स देव पितृगन्धर्वैः कुरूणां कीर्तिवर्धनः मानितः कुरुते ऽसत्राणि शक्र सद्मनि भारत ।। ३-१५९-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'And, O Bharata, honored by the gods, ancestors, and Gandharvas, the one who augments the glory of the Kurus is studying the science of weapons in the abode of Sakra.' ।। 3-159-21 ।।

english translation

sa deva pitRgandharvaiH kurUNAM kIrtivardhanaH mAnitaH kurute 'satrANi zakra sadmani bhArata || 3-159-21 ||

'And, O Partha, in heaven, he who had brought all the rulers of the earth under his sway through justice—this immensely powerful and highly energetic monarch, your father's grandsire, Shantanu himself—is greatly pleased with the conduct of that wielder of the Gandiva, the foremost of his lineage.' ।। 3-159-22 ।।

'That mighty-powered one (mahāvīryaḥ), of great fame, stood properly like a chief bull of the family. After worshipping the ancestors, gods, and brahmanas, he brought seven great principal sacrifices towards the Yamuna.' ।। 3-159-23 ।।

samyaka cAsau mahAvIryaH kuladhurya iva sathitaH pitRRna devAMsa tathA viprAna pUjayitvA mahAyazaH sapta mukhyAna mahAmedhAna Aharada yamunAM parati || 3-159-23 ||

'Vaisampayana said, "Upon hearing the words of the lord of wealth, the Pandavas were greatly pleased. Then, lowering his club, mace, sword, and bow, the foremost of the Bharatas, Bhima, bowed down to Kubera."' ।। 3-159-25 ।।
