माम अनादृत्य देवांश च विनाशं यक्षरक्षसाम सवबाहुबलम आश्रित्य तेनाहं परीतिमांस तवयि शापाद अस्मि विनिर्मुक्तॊ घॊराद अद्य वृकॊदर ॥ ३-१५८-४६ ॥

'To please Krishna, you have, disregarding both the gods and myself, committed this bold act—the destruction of the Yakshas and Rakshasas—relying on the strength of your arms. I am well-pleased with you. Today, O Vrikodara, I am freed from my curse, which had been severe.' ॥ 3-158-46 ॥

english translation

अहं पूर्वम अगस्त्येन करुद्धेन परमर्षिणा शप्तॊ ऽपराधे कस्मिंश चित तस्यैषा निष्कृतिः कृता ॥ ३-१५८-४७ ॥

'I was once cursed by the great sage Agastya, who was enraged at me for an offense. This is the atonement for that curse.' ॥ 3-158-47 ॥

english translation

दृष्टॊ हि मम संक्लेशः पुरा पाण्डवनन्दन न तवात्रापराधॊ ऽसति कथं चिद अपि शत्रुहन ॥ ३-१५८-४८ ॥

'My disgrace had long been fated, and therefore, no fault attaches to you in any way, O Pandava.' ॥ 3-158-48 ॥

english translation

[य] कथं शप्तॊ ऽसि भगवन्न अगस्त्येन महात्मना शरॊतुम इच्छाम्य अहं देव तवैतच छापकारणम ॥ ३-१५८-४९ ॥

'Yudhishthira said, "O divine one, why were you cursed by the high-souled Agastya? O god, I am eager to learn the reason behind that imprecation.' ॥ 3-158-49 ॥

english translation

इदं चाश्चर्य भूतं मे यत करॊधात तस्य धीमतः तवैव तवं न निर्दग्धः सबलः सपदानुगः ॥ ३-१५८-५० ॥

'I marvel that, at that moment, you and your forces were not consumed by the wrath of that wise sage.' ॥ 3-158-50 ॥
