महिषैश च वराहैश च शार्दूलैश च निषेवितम वयपेतभीर गिरिं शौर्याद भीमसेनॊ वयगाहत ।। ३-१५०-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'Fearless due to his prowess, Bhimasena, as though beckoned by the breeze-swept trees of the forest, always fragrant with flowers and bearing tender coppery branches, ventured into the mountainous regions inhabited by buffaloes, bears, and leopards.' ।। 3-150-21 ।।

english translation

mahiSaiza ca varAhaiza ca zArdUlaiza ca niSevitama vayapetabhIra giriM zauryAda bhImasenò vayagAhata || 3-150-21 ||

hk transliteration

कुसुमानत शाखैश च ताम्प्र पल्लवकॊमलैः याच्यमान इवारण्ये दरुमैर मारुतकम्पितैः ।। ३-१५०-२२ ।।

sanskrit

'In the forest, with flower-laden branches and tender copper-colored young leaves, the trees seemed to be beseeching (as if) swayed by the wind.' ।। 3-150-22 ।।

english translation

kusumAnata zAkhaiza ca tAmpra pallavakòmalaiH yAcyamAna ivAraNye darumaira mArutakampitaiH || 3-150-22 ||

hk transliteration

कृतपद्माज्ञलि पुटा मत्तषट्पद सेविताः परिय तीर्थवना मार्गे पद्मिनीः समतिक्रमन ।। ३-१५०-२३ ।।

sanskrit

'Due to the presence of lotus buds, the scene appeared as though they were joining their hands in greeting before Bhima.' ।। 3-150-23 ।।

english translation

kRtapadmAjJali puTA mattaSaTpada sevitAH pariya tIrthavanA mArge padminIH samatikramana || 3-150-23 ||

सज्जमान मनॊ दृष्टिः फुल्लेषु गिरिसानुषु दरौपदी वाक्यपाथेयॊ भीमः शीघ्रतरं ययौ ।। ३-१५०-२४ ।।

'With Draupadi's words as his guiding provisions, Bhima proceeded swiftly, his mind and gaze fixed on the blooming slopes of the mountain.' ।। 3-150-24 ।।

sajjamAna manò dRSTiH phulleSu girisAnuSu daraupadI vAkyapAtheyò bhImaH zIghrataraM yayau || 3-150-24 ||

परिवृत्ते ऽहनि ततः परकीर्णहरिणे वने काञ्चनैर विमलैः पद्मैर ददर्श विपुलां नदीम ।। ३-१५०-२५ ।।

'When the sun crossed its zenith, he beheld in the forest, scattered with deer, a mighty river adorned with vibrant golden lotuses.' ।। 3-150-25 ।।
