मनुष्या बुद्धिसंपन्ना दयां कुर्वन्ति जन्तुषु करूरेषु कर्मसु कथं देहवाक चित्तदूषिषु धर्मघातिषु सज्जन्ते बुद्धिमन्तॊ भवद्विधाः ॥ ३-१४६-७६ ॥
'Humans, endowed with wisdom, are expected to show compassion toward all beings. How is it that those like you, gifted with intelligence, engage in cruel acts that defile the body, speech, and mind, and undermine the very essence of righteousness?' ॥ 3-146-76 ॥
english translation
manuSyA buddhisaMpannA dayAM kurvanti jantuSu karUreSu karmasu kathaM dehavAka cittadUSiSu dharmaghAtiSu sajjante buddhimantò bhavadvidhAH ॥ 3-146-76 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन तवं धर्मं विजानासि वृद्धा नॊपासितास तवया अल्पबुद्धितया वन्यान उत्सादयसि यन मृगान ॥ ३-१४६-७७ ॥
'Thou art unaware of what virtue entails, nor hast thou sought the counsel of the wise. It is from ignorance and thoughtlessness that thou dost harm innocent creatures.' ॥ 3-146-77 ॥
english translation
na tavaM dharmaM vijAnAsi vRddhA nòpAsitAsa tavayA alpabuddhitayA vanyAna utsAdayasi yana mRgAna ॥ 3-146-77 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबरूहि कस तवं किमर्थं वा वनं तवम इदम आगतः वर्जितं मानुषैर भावैस तथैव पुरुषैर अपि ॥ ३-१४६-७८ ॥
'Speak—who art thou, and for what purpose hast thou entered this desolate forest, devoid of humanity and human presence?' ॥ 3-146-78 ॥
english translation
barUhi kasa tavaM kimarthaM vA vanaM tavama idama AgataH varjitaM mAnuSaira bhAvaisa tathaiva puruSaira api ॥ 3-146-78 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअतः परमगम्यॊ ऽयं पर्वतः सुदुरारुहः विना सिद्धगतिं वीर गतिर अत्र न विद्यते ॥ ३-१४६-७९ ॥
'Therefore, this mountain is supremely difficult to approach and exceedingly hard to climb. O hero, without attaining the path of the perfected ones (siddhas), no passage through it is possible.' ॥ 3-146-79 ॥

ataH paramagamyò 'yaM parvataH sudurAruhaH vinA siddhagatiM vIra gatira atra na vidyate ॥ 3-146-79 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकारुण्यात सौहृदाच चैव वारये तवां महाबल नातः परं तवया शक्यं गन्तुम आश्वसिहि परभॊ ॥ ३-१४६-८० ॥
'Out of compassion, O hero, I urge you to turn back. Hearken to my words—proceeding beyond this point is impossible for you.' ॥ 3-146-80 ॥

kAruNyAta sauhRdAca caiva vAraye tavAM mahAbala nAtaH paraM tavayA zakyaM gantuma Azvasihi parabhò ॥ 3-146-80 ॥
