तस्य लाङ्गूलनिदनं पर्वतः स गुहा मुखैः उद्गारम इव गौर नर्दम उत्ससर्ज समन्ततः ॥ ३-१४६-६१ ॥
'And from all directions, the mountains, through the mouths of their caves, echoed those sounds, resembling the lowing of a cow. As the mountain trembled from the force of the tail’s lash, its peaks swayed and began to crumble.' ॥ 3-146-61 ॥

स लाङ्गूलरवस तस्य मत्तवारणनिस्वनम अन्तर्धाय विचित्रेषु च चारगिरिसानुषु ॥ ३-१४६-६२ ॥
'Overpowering the roars of enraged elephants, the reverberations of his tail resounded across the mountain's diverse slopes.' ॥ 3-146-62 ॥

स भीमसेनस तं शरुत्वा संप्रहृष्टतनूरुहः शब्दप्रभवम अन्विच्छंश च चारकदली वनम ॥ ३-१४६-६३ ॥
'Hearing those sounds, the hairs on Bhima’s body stood on end. He began to roam through the plantain grove, searching for the source of the noise.' ॥ 3-146-63 ॥

कदली वनमध्यस्थम अथ पीने शिलातले स ददर्श महाबाहुर वानराधिपतिं सथितम ॥ ३-१४६-६४ ॥
'His keen eyes soon spotted the mighty monkey-chief, standing on a raised rocky platform.' ॥ 3-146-64 ॥

विद्युत संघातदुष्प्रेक्ष्यं विद्युत संघातपिङ्गलम विद्युत संघातसदृशं विद्युत संघातचञ्चलम ॥ ३-१४६-६५ ॥
'The sight of him was as blinding as a lightning flash, his form radiating a coppery hue akin to that of lightning. He moved with the swiftness of lightning and his voice resounded like thunder.' ॥ 3-146-65 ॥
