[अस्ट] न तेन सथविरॊ भवति येनास्य पलितं शिरः बालॊ ऽपि यः परजानाति तं देवाः सथविरं विदुः ॥ ३-१३३-११ ॥
'Ashtavakra retorted, "Age is not defined by gray hair. The gods consider one old who, though still a child in years, possesses wisdom."' ॥ 3-133-11 ॥
english translation
न हायनैर न पलितैर न वित्तेन न बन्धुभिः ऋषयश चक्रिरे धर्मं यॊ ऽनूचानः स नॊ महान ॥ ३-१३३-१२ ॥
'The sages have not determined that merit lies in age, gray hair, wealth, or friends. To us, greatness is found in one who is well-versed in the Vedas.' ॥ 3-133-12 ॥
english translation
दिदृक्षुर अस्मि संप्राप्तॊ बन्दिनं राजसंसदि निवेदयस्व मां दवाः सथ राज्ञे पुष्कर मालिने ॥ ३-१३३-१३ ॥
'Ashtavakra said, "I have come, O porter, wishing to see Vandin in the royal court. Go and inform King Janaka, who wears a garland of lotuses, that I am here."' ॥ 3-133-13 ॥

दरष्टास्य अद्य वदत दवारपाल; मनीषिभिः सह वादे विवृद्धे उताहॊ वाप्य उच्चतां नीचतां वा; तूष्णींभूतेष्व अथ सर्वेषु चाद्य ॥ ३-१३३-१४ ॥
'O doorkeeper, you will see today, when the debate grows intense with the learned ones, Whether I rise high or fall low, when all others have fallen silent.' ॥ 3-133-14 ॥
english translation
[दव] कथं यज्ञं दशवर्षॊ विशेस तवं; विनीतानां विदुषां संप्रवेश्यम उपायतः परयतिष्ये तवाहं; परवेशने कुरु यत्नं यथावत ॥ ३-१३३-१५ ॥
'The warder said, "How can you, being only in your tenth year, hope to enter this sacrifice, which is reserved for learned and educated men? However, I will make an effort to find a way for your admission. You, too, should try your best."' ॥ 3-133-15 ॥
