न हायनैर न पलितैर न वित्तेन न बन्धुभिः ऋषयश चक्रिरे धर्मं यॊ ऽनूचानः स नॊ महान ॥ ३-१३३-१२ ॥
'The sages have not determined that merit lies in age, gray hair, wealth, or friends. To us, greatness is found in one who is well-versed in the Vedas.' ॥ 3-133-12 ॥
