[ल] इह मर्त्यास तपस तप्त्वा सवर्गं गच्छन्ति भारत मर्तुकामा नरा राजन्न इहायान्ति सहस्रशः ।। ३-१३०-१ ।।

sanskrit

'Lomasa said, "O son of Bharata’s race! If mortals breathe their last at this sacred spot, they ascend to heaven. O king, thousands upon thousands of men come here to depart from this world."' ।। 3-130-1 ।।

english translation

[la] iha martyAsa tapasa taptvA savargaM gacchanti bhArata martukAmA narA rAjanna ihAyAnti sahasrazaH || 3-130-1 ||

एवम आशीः परयुक्ता हि दक्षेण यजता पुरा इह ये वै मरिष्यन्ति ते वै सवर्गजितॊ नराः ।। ३-१३०-२ ।।

'A blessing was bestowed upon this spot by Daksha during his sacrificial rites, declaring, "Those who pass away here shall attain a place in heaven."' ।। 3-130-2 ।।

evama AzIH parayuktA hi dakSeNa yajatA purA iha ye vai mariSyanti te vai savargajitò narAH || 3-130-2 ||

'Here flows the beautiful and sacred river Saraswati, brimming with water. And here, O Lord of men, lies the spot known as Vinasana, where the Saraswati vanished.' ।। 3-130-3 ।।

eSA sarò vatI puNyA divyA còghavatI nadI etada vinazanaM nAma sarò vatyA vizAM pate || 3-130-3 ||

दवारं निषादराष्ट्रस्य येषां दवेषात सरॊ वती परविष्टा पृथिवीं वीर मा निषादा हि मां विदुः ।। ३-१३०-४ ।।

'Here is the gate of the Nishada kingdom, and it is from enmity with them that the Saraswati, out of disdain, entered the earth so that the Nishadas would not behold her.' ।। 3-130-4 ।।

davAraM niSAdarASTrasya yeSAM daveSAta sarò vatI paraviSTA pRthivIM vIra mA niSAdA hi mAM viduH || 3-130-4 ||

'Here too is the sacred region of Chamashodbheda, where the Saraswati once more became visible. And here, she is joined by other holy rivers flowing towards the sea.' ।। 3-130-5 ।।

eSa vai camasòdbhedò yatra dRzyA sarò vatI yatrainAma abhyavartanta divyAH puNyAH samudragAH || 3-130-5 ||
