शरान्ताः परसुप्तास तत्रेमे मात्रा सह सुदुःखिताः सुप्तांश चैनान अभ्यगच्छद धिडिम्बा नाम राक्षसी ॥ ३-१३-८६ ॥
'There, exhausted and deeply asleep with their mother, the Pandavas were troubled by a Rakshasi named Hidimba, who approached them while they were resting.' ॥ 3-13-86 ॥
english translation
भीमस्य पादौ कृत्वा तु ख उत्सङ्गे ततॊ बलात पर्यमर्दत संहृष्टा कल्याणी मृदु पाणिना ॥ ३-१३-८७ ॥
'The Rakshasi Hidimba, delighted to see Bhima, who had rested his feet on her lap, approached him with a gentle hand, caressing him.' ॥ 3-13-87 ॥

ताम अबुध्यद अमेयात्मा बलवान सत्यविक्रमः पर्यपृच्छच च तां भीमः किम इहेच्छस्य अनिन्दिते ॥ ३-१३-८८ ॥
'The Rakshasi, weak and trembling, placed Bhima's feet on her lap and gently pressed them with her soft hands. Awaking from sleep, the mighty Bhima, whose energy and prowess were boundless, asked her, “O lady of faultless beauty, what is it that you seek here?”' ॥ 3-13-88 ॥

तयॊः शरुता तु कथितम आगच्छद राक्षसाधमः भीमरूपॊ महानादान विसृजन भीमदर्शनः ॥ ३-१३-८९ ॥
'Having heard their conversation, the worst of the rakshasas approached, of terrible form, emitting loud roars, fearsome to behold.' ॥ 3-13-89 ॥
english translation
केन सार्धं कथयसि आनयैनं ममान्तिकम हिडिम्बे भक्षयिष्यावॊ नचिरं कर्तुम अर्हसि ॥ ३-१३-९० ॥
'He demanded, “O Hidimba, whom do you converse with? Bring him to me at once; I will devour him. Do not delay!”' ॥ 3-13-90 ॥
