आशीविषैः कृष्णसर्पैः सुप्तं चैनम अदर्शयत सर्वेष्व एवाङ्गदेशेषु न ममार च शत्रुहा ॥ ३-१३-७६ ॥
'It was also Duryodhana who unleashed venomous black cobras to bite Bhimasena all over, but that slayer of foes did not succumb to death.' ॥ 3-13-76 ॥
english translation
AzIviSaiH kRSNasarpaiH suptaM cainama adarzayata sarveSva evAGgadezeSu na mamAra ca zatruhA ॥ 3-13-76 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरतिब्बुद्धस तु कौन्तेयः सर्वान सर्पान अपॊथयत सारथिं चास्य दयितम अपहस्तेन जघ्निवान ॥ ३-१३-७७ ॥
'Awaking, the son of Kunti smashed all the serpents, and with his left hand, he slew Duryodhana’s trusted charioteer.' ॥ 3-13-77 ॥

paratibbuddhasa tu kaunteyaH sarvAna sarpAna apòthayata sArathiM cAsya dayitama apahastena jaghnivAna ॥ 3-13-77 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपुनः सुप्तान उपाधाक्षीद बालकान वारणावते शयानान आर्यया सार्धं कॊ नु तत कर्तुम अर्हति ॥ ३-१३-७८ ॥
'Again, while the children were asleep at Varanavata with their mother, it was Duryodhana who set fire to the house, intending to burn them alive. Who else could commit such a vile act?' ॥ 3-13-78 ॥

punaH suptAna upAdhAkSIda bAlakAna vAraNAvate zayAnAna AryayA sArdhaM kò nu tata kartuma arhati ॥ 3-13-78 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयत्रार्या रुदती भीता पाण्डवान इदम अब्रवीत महद वयसनम आपन्ना शिखिना परिवारिता ॥ ३-१३-७९ ॥
'In the midst of that calamity, the illustrious Kunti, surrounded by flames, cried out in terror, calling to her children.' ॥ 3-13-79 ॥

yatrAryA rudatI bhItA pANDavAna idama abravIta mahada vayasanama ApannA zikhinA parivAritA ॥ 3-13-79 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptहाहतास्मि कुतॊ नव अद्य भवेच छान्तिर इहानलात अनाथा विनशिष्यामि बालकैः पुत्रकैः सह ॥ ३-१३-८० ॥
'"Alas, we are doomed! How shall we escape this fire today? Alas, I shall be destroyed along with my little children!" Thus lamented Kunti, overcome by despair.' ॥ 3-13-80 ॥

hAhatAsmi kutò nava adya bhaveca chAntira ihAnalAta anAthA vinaziSyAmi bAlakaiH putrakaiH saha ॥ 3-13-80 ॥
