ततः पिपीलिका जन्तुं कदा चिद अदशत सफिजि स दष्टॊ वयनदद राजंस तेन दुःखेन बालकः ॥ ३-१२७-६ ॥
'One day, an ant stung the boy on his hip, and in great pain, the child let out a loud scream due to the agony caused by the bite.' ॥ 3-127-6 ॥
english translation
tataH pipIlikA jantuM kadA cida adazata saphiji sa daSTò vayanadada rAjaMsa tena duHkhena bAlakaH ॥ 3-127-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततस ता मातरः सर्वाः पराक्रॊशन भृशदुःखिताः परिवार्य जन्तुं सहिताः स शब्दस तुमुलॊ ऽभवत ॥ ३-१२७-७ ॥
'Immediately, the mothers, overwhelmed with grief at seeing the child stung by the ant, gathered around him and began to wail loudly. A tumultuous noise arose from their cries.' ॥ 3-127-7 ॥
english translation
tatasa tA mAtaraH sarvAH parAkròzana bhRzaduHkhitAH parivArya jantuM sahitAH sa zabdasa tumulò 'bhavata ॥ 3-127-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतम आर्तनादं सहसा शुश्राव स महीपतिः अमात्यपरिषन मध्ये उपविष्टः सहर्त्विजैः ॥ ३-१२७-८ ॥
'The sound of the child’s scream reached the ears of the sovereign of the earth, who was seated among his ministers, with the family priest by his side.' ॥ 3-127-8 ॥

tama ArtanAdaM sahasA zuzrAva sa mahIpatiH amAtyapariSana madhye upaviSTaH sahartvijaiH ॥ 3-127-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः परस्थापयाम आस किम एतद इति पार्थिवः तस्मै कषत्ता यथावृत्तम आचचक्षे सुतं परति ॥ ३-१२७-९ ॥
'Then the king, seeking to understand the matter, asked for clarification. The royal attendant promptly explained to him the situation regarding his son in detail.' ॥ 3-127-9 ॥

tataH parasthApayAma Asa kima etada iti pArthivaH tasmai kaSattA yathAvRttama AcacakSe sutaM parati ॥ 3-127-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतवरमाणः स चॊत्थाय सॊमकः सह मन्त्रिभिः परविश्यान्तःपुरं पुत्रम आश्वासयद अरिंदम ॥ ३-१२७-१० ॥
'Somaka, accompanied by his ministers, quickly rose and made his way to the women's quarters. Upon reaching there, O subjugator of foes! he comforted his son.' ॥ 3-127-10 ॥
