विसीदन्तीं तु तां दृष्ट्वा कश्पयॊ भगवान ऋषिः परसादयां बभूवाथ ततॊ भूमिं विशां पते ।। ३-११४-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'Seeing her (the Earth) sinking/distressed, The blessed sage Kashyapa Then proceeded to appease/comfort The Earth, O lord of people.' ।। 3-114-21 ।।

english translation

visIdantIM tu tAM dRSTvA kazpayò bhagavAna RSiH parasAdayAM babhUvAtha tatò bhUmiM vizAM pate || 3-114-21 ||

hk transliteration

ततः परसन्ना पृथिवी तपसा तस्य पाण्डव पुनर उन्मज्ज्य सलिलाद वेदी रूपास्थिता बभौ ।। ३-११४-२२ ।।

sanskrit

'And then, O Pandu's son, the Earth, gratified by his virtuous actions, emerged once more from the waters, manifesting as a sacred altar adorned with beauty.' ।। 3-114-22 ।।

english translation

tataH parasannA pRthivI tapasA tasya pANDava punara unmajjya salilAda vedI rUpAsthitA babhau || 3-114-22 ||

hk transliteration

सैषा परकाशते राजन वेदी संस्थान लक्षणा आरुह्यात्र महाराज वीर्यवान वै भविष्यसि ।। ३-११४-२३ ।।

sanskrit

'This, O king, is the place that clearly reveals the form of an altar. Ascend it, O great monarch, and you shall attain great valour and strength.' ।। 3-114-23 ।।

english translation

saiSA parakAzate rAjana vedI saMsthAna lakSaNA AruhyAtra mahArAja vIryavAna vai bhaviSyasi || 3-114-23 ||

hk transliteration

अहं च ते सवस्त्ययनं परयॊक्ष्ये; यथा तवम एनाम अधिरॊक्ष्यसे ऽदय सपृष्टा हि मर्त्येन ततः समुद्रम; एषा वेदी परविशत्य आजमीढ ।। ३-११४-२४ ।।

sanskrit

'And, O king, this is the very altar that extends all the way to the sea, resting upon its bosom. May fortune favor you! Ascend this altar and navigate the waters. As you mount it today, I shall conduct the rituals to ward off all misfortunes; for this altar, once touched by a mortal, will immediately merge into the sea.' ।। 3-114-24 ।।

english translation

ahaM ca te savastyayanaM parayòkSye; yathA tavama enAma adhiròkSyase 'daya sapRSTA hi martyena tataH samudrama; eSA vedI paravizatya AjamIDha || 3-114-24 ||

hk transliteration

अग्निर मित्रॊ यॊनिर आपॊ ऽथ देव्यॊ; विष्णॊ रेतस तवम अमृतस्य नाभिः एवं बरुवन पाण्डव सत्यवाक्यं; वेदीम इमां तवं तरसाधिरॊह ।। ३-११४-२५ ।।

sanskrit

'Fire is the friend, water is the womb, then the goddesses; You are Vishnu's seed, the center of immortality. Speaking thus the true words, O Pandava, Quickly ascend this sacred altar/platform.' ।। 3-114-25 ।।

english translation

agnira mitrò yònira Apò 'tha devyò; viSNò retasa tavama amRtasya nAbhiH evaM baruvana pANDava satyavAkyaM; vedIma imAM tavaM tarasAdhiròha || 3-114-25 ||
