एवम उक्तः परत्युवाच भगवान मुनिपुंगवः जीर्णं तद धि मया तॊयम उपायॊ ऽनयः परचिन्त्यताम पूरणार्थं समुद्रस्य भवद्भिर यत्नम आस्थितैः ॥ ३-१०३-१६ ॥
'Thus addressed, the blessed and mighty sage replied, ‘Indeed, that water has been digested by me. Therefore, you must consider another means if you wish to make an effort to fill the ocean.' ॥ 3-103-16 ॥
english translation
evama uktaH paratyuvAca bhagavAna munipuMgavaH jIrNaM tada dhi mayA tòyama upAyò 'nayaH paracintyatAma pUraNArthaM samudrasya bhavadbhira yatnama AsthitaiH ॥ 3-103-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएतच छरुत्वा तु वचनं महर्षे भावितात्मनः विस्मिताश च विषण्णाश च बभूवुः सहिताः सुराः ॥ ३-१०३-१७ ॥
'Hearing the words of that enlightened sage, the assembled gods were filled with both wonder and sorrow, O great king!' ॥ 3-103-17 ॥

etaca charutvA tu vacanaM maharSe bhAvitAtmanaH vismitAza ca viSaNNAza ca babhUvuH sahitAH surAH ॥ 3-103-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरस्परम अनुज्ञाप्य परनम्य मुनिपुंगवम परजाः सर्वा महाराज विप्रजग्मुर यथागतम ॥ ३-१०३-१८ ॥
'After bidding farewell to one another and bowing to the mighty sage, all the beings went their separate ways.' ॥ 3-103-18 ॥

parasparama anujJApya paranamya munipuMgavama parajAH sarvA mahArAja viprajagmura yathAgatama ॥ 3-103-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतरिदशा विष्णुना सार्धम उपजग्मुः पितामहम पूरणार्थं समुद्रस्य मन्त्रयित्वा पुनः पुनः ऊचुः पराञ्जलयः सर्वे सागरस्याभिपूरणम ॥ ३-१०३-१९ ॥
'The gods, along with Vishnu, approached Brahma. After holding another consultation regarding the replenishment of the sea, they spoke together with joined hands about how to achieve it.' ॥ 3-103-19 ॥

taridazA viSNunA sArdhama upajagmuH pitAmahama pUraNArthaM samudrasya mantrayitvA punaH punaH UcuH parAJjalayaH sarve sAgarasyAbhipUraNama ॥ 3-103-19 ॥
