एतच छरुत्वा वचॊ देवा विष्णुना समुदाहृतम परमेष्ठिनम आज्ञाप्य अगस्त्यस्याश्रमं ययुः ।। ३-१०१-११ ।।

'Hearing Vishnu's words, the gods sought the permission of Brahma, the lord of the highest realms, and proceeded to the hermitage of Agastya.' ।। 3-101-11 ।।

etaca charutvA vacò devA viSNunA samudAhRtama parameSThinama AjJApya agastyasyAzramaM yayuH || 3-101-11 ||

तत्रापश्यन महात्मानं वारुणिं दीप्ततेजसम उपास्यमानम ऋषिभिर देवैर इव पितामहम ।। ३-१०१-१२ ।।

'There, they beheld the illustrious Agastya, son of Varuna, radiating brilliance and attended by sages, just as Brahma is revered by the celestials.' ।। 3-101-12 ।।

tatrApazyana mahAtmAnaM vAruNiM dIptatejasama upAsyamAnama RSibhira devaira iva pitAmahama || 3-101-12 ||

ते ऽभिगम्य महात्मानं मैत्रावरुणिम अच्युतम आश्रमस्थं तपॊ राशिं कर्मभिः सवैर अभिष्टुवन ।। ३-१०१-१३ ।।

'As they approached him, the gods addressed the son of Mitra and Varuna, who resided in the hermitage—magnanimous, unwavering, and radiant like an embodiment of accumulated pious deeds. They glorified him by recounting his illustrious achievements.' ।। 3-101-13 ।।

te 'bhigamya mahAtmAnaM maitrAvaruNima acyutama AzramasthaM tapò rAziM karmabhiH savaira abhiSTuvana || 3-101-13 ||

[देवा] नहुषेणाभितप्तानां तवं लॊकानां गतिः पुरा भरंशितश च सुरैश्वर्याल लॊकार्थं लॊककण्ठकः ।। ३-१०१-१४ ।।

'The deities said, "You were previously the refuge/protector of the worlds when they were tormented by Nahusha. That tormentor of the worlds (Nahusha) was made to fall from his heavenly position for the welfare of the worlds."' ।। 3-101-14 ।।

[devA] nahuSeNAbhitaptAnAM tavaM lòkAnAM gatiH purA bharaMzitaza ca suraizvaryAla lòkArthaM lòkakaNThakaH || 3-101-14 ||

करॊधात परवृद्धः सहसा भास्करस्य नगॊत्तमः वचस तवानतिक्रामन विन्ध्यः शैलॊ न वर्धते ।। ३-१०१-१५ ।।

'He was cast down from his heavenly throne, and the mighty Vindhya mountain, in a fit of wrathful rivalry with the sun, began to elevate itself to new heights. Yet, it has since ceased its ascent, unable to defy your command.' ।। 3-101-15 ।।

karòdhAta paravRddhaH sahasA bhAskarasya nagòttamaH vacasa tavAnatikrAmana vindhyaH zailò na vardhate || 3-101-15 ||
