तमसा चावृते लॊके मृत्युनाभ्यर्दिताः परजाः तवाम एव नाथम आसाद्य निर्वृतिं परमां गताः ॥ ३-१०१-१६ ॥

'And when darkness shrouds the world and living beings are tormented by death, they find the highest security by taking refuge in you as their protector.' ॥ 3-101-16 ॥

english translation

tamasA cAvRte lòke mRtyunAbhyarditAH parajAH tavAma eva nAthama AsAdya nirvRtiM paramAM gatAH ॥ 3-101-16 ॥

अस्माकं भयभीतानां नित्यशॊ भगवान गतिः ततस तव आर्ताः परयाचामस तवां वरं वदरॊ हय असि ॥ ३-१०१-१७ ॥

'In times of peril, your reverence is our steadfast sanctuary. It is for this reason that we seek a boon from you, for you are ever generous in granting the wishes of those who turn to you.' ॥ 3-101-17 ॥
